 Company & fleet news – 14th May 2009
stop press update

I felt that we really had to publish some of the recent goings on in our area which are, I feel, most interesting.

I hope to publish a full page starting at the latest next Monday, 18th May.

Pictures are to hand now for the recently arrived ex London General double decks.

Whilst there are still some Metrobuses giving good service, indeed M336 will soon see its 30th birthday
recent arrivals are five Volvo B7TL from London General.
The Volvo B7TL/East Lancs Vyking's new in 2002 and still only seven years old look in fine fettle and Gavin Francis caught up with three this morning.
EVL 26, 33 and 36 are seen in service at The Eden Bus Station, Wycombe.

Whilst Gavin Francis was taking pictures at Wycombe another surprise arrival was this Trident recently transferred from London operations.
It was operating the 74 to Slough and with the Carousel Volvos above brings a London flavour to Wycombe operations.
Strange, because Wycombe was once an operating base of London Transport using various London type buses from 1930 through to the late '70s.

Another flash back to the past is reminded to those interested in such matters when two ex Brighton & Hove buses join the Oxford fleet. The last arrival were Bristol VRs and this time they are Volvo B10BLE/Wrights Renowns.

Gavin visited Brighton some years ago and caught up with one of the two buses transferred to Oxford.
219 - R219HCD is seen on route 5A in Brighton on 19th July 2006
We now await the appearance of these two buses and wonder if this may see the end of Volvo B10Bs 640-643?
Also I wonder what the fleet numbers will be? Maybe 871 and 872 or 898 and 899. Also will they receive OXF registrations?
Good spotting to those interested. Who will be first with a picture?

found 903 at Water Eaton yesterday, 13th May, now bearing Park & Ride vinyls.

Red Rose

A day off enabled me to ride the Red Rose and see the 104 operation from Ibstone to Wycombe via Radnage.
The Dart always used on this route is seen at Radnage Chapel.
